Day 2 & 3
This is what i finished on day 2. Well, mostly finished. I now have a greater appreciation for parents putting toys together on Christmas eve with sub par directions. The directions for this monster were ridiculous. BUT I did it.
I also put the plastic down on the carpets in each of the bedrooms. Construction to put in the ceilings is happening soon!
Here is the master bedroom. We are trying to figure out what we want to do with that window. It's huge and off center and not great.I am excited to have my own closet again! The master connects to a Jack and Jill bathroom that will eventually become a master bath once Pat puts in the second bathroom for the kids.
Day 3:
Pat went to the house alone last night. I am sure it was much easier to get stuff done without the kids there and me asking "What do I do now?" all the time. It still made me sad that I couldn't be there. falling in love with this little house and I want to be there all the time!
Pat pulled this horrible wiring out of the rafters in the garage. They didn't even cap the wires that weren't in use anymore. Just wrapped it up in electrical tape and forgot about it. The more I see of this garage bedroom, the sketchier it becomes.
He also prepped the wall to put the new garage door in. We found out that the area next to that little wooden door was actually where the door to the backyard used to be. So there is a great big header there already. If I understood Pat correctly, (which at this point, I may not have understood at all. This is all foreign territory for me) He has to take that header out to make room for the new door. 🤷♀️ We will see what happens.
Pat is back over there today without us. 😠He has the next 5 days off from work because of President's day and his boss gave him a couple extra days off. So we are hoping to get the water heater in, the laundry area prepped and ready to move in, the door installed and hopefully ceilings started!
